The Department of English at BMSPUCW is committed to equipping students with strong communication skills and a deep appreciation for literature and language. Through a variety of activities such as workshops, seminars, group discussions, debates, and role-plays, the department nurtures both knowledge and passion for English.

In today’s global scenario, mastering the English language is vital for success in almost every field. As the universal language of business, technology, and communication, English provides a cutting edge over other foreign languages, offering greater opportunities for students to connect and compete on an international platform.

The English Department at BMS PU College for Women achieved outstanding results, with both I and II PUC students performing impressively. The department continues to demonstrate academic excellence with high pass rates and distinctions.

Additionally, as part of an extended learning activity, a screening of the critically acclaimed films 12 Years a Slave and Banker Margayya were held for I PUC students.

Looking ahead, the Department is preparing for “English Day,” an event packed with engaging activities like book reviews, caption writing, spelling bees, Newsflash, Extempore, Pulse of Poetry and an inter-class skit competition. This day promises to further inspire and enrich students in their literary and linguistic pursuits.
